Molly has grown up so fast in the past few months. She can say pretty much anything (I can't necessarily understand it sometimes still) and she is becoming a great communicator. However, she has just entered the "Why Mommy?" stage. So that should be fun. "Mommy, watch Dora?" "No." "Why Mommy?" "Because you watch too much Dora." "Why?" and on and on and on. Molly is such a busy body. She can't sit still for a second -unless she is really really tired. I think that is why she still eats very little. When she's distracted she eats more but most of the time I feel like she hardly eats anything and when she does it's "pizza" or "donuts". That could be my fault - but since she could eat solids, I've given her plenty of green beans, carrots and fruit so I'm not sure what the deal is. We get her weight checked on Thursday for her 2 year appointment.
Here are two great stories about Molly...(well the first one is about her Dad)
1.) Peter was instructed to take Molly to Chrissey's house one morning while I went to work early. When I picked Molly up her hair looked very very greasy. I thought to myself that I'd just given her a bath the night before. So I was puzzled. I finally called Peter at work and asked if he had fixed her hair. He said yes and then I asked what he used. He told me the pink bottle in her room. THAT WAS THE SUNSCREEN BOTTLE!!!! We got a good laugh out of that one.
2.) We were at the dinner table one night eating pizza. I had already dug in to mine and heard Molly talking. She was saying, "God, Mommy, Daddy, Boots, Dora..." She was saying her first prayer!!! I was taken aback. I couldn't believe my ears. It was then I realized how much she is influenced by her surroundings. I must confess that Peter and I usually don't have prayers before meals because everything is so hectic and we're lucky to make it to the dinner table most times. So she must have learned it from church. It was a very very big milestone for her! Now we need to work on the family prayer...
