She's really warming up to the water now! She loves to kick and splash and cries when it's time to get out. She also takes naps in the pool (when I'm holding her). It's so cute - I guess water is really calming.

Peter had a terrible first Father's Day. He was sick all day. We thought it was allergies first then later tonight it was the real deal. Yuck! But he continued to do his other activities throughout the day - church, nursing home, shopping with me and playing with Molly. What a trooper! I think he is the best dad! He always helps out with Molly - even diaper duty - and watches her when I need some time to get out by myself. Molly loves playing with her dad - she gets so excited when he walks in the room. They definitely have a special connection. I'm glad I'm married to the best dad. (It's pretty close competition with my dad!)
Also, Molly is 10 months old today. 2 more months...she'll be a year! I can't believe it.
I can't believe that Molly is 9 months already - soon to be 10 months on the 20th of June! I would say she is growing and getting bigger but that is not the case at this particular point in her life. We took her to the doctor a week and a half ago and the scales showed that she hasn't gained an ounce since her 6 month appointment (she still weighs 14 lbs. 2 oz.) I have become worried, as any mother should. The nurse practioner just said to increase her amount of solid food and supplement with formula if I have to. So now we have a new schedule with formula three times a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I still nurse her when I can (which is about 4 times a day). I will take her back to the doctor to get weighed on the 20th of this month.
I absolutely love giving her a bottle and she LOVES her bottle. It's a great tool for naptime. She's goes to sleep instantly after a bottle without a fight - everytime! So bottles do have a few perks. She loves finger food - she always has to feed herself - no spoon. So we get creative with mealtime. She's had chicken, green beans, olives, pita bread, rice cakes, corn, carrots and the list goes on. She mostly moves her food around on her high chair. I'm not exactly sure how much she is really eating. It might appear to look half empty on the plate but when I lift her out of her chair - there is always a big pile of food. Her latest thing is to swirl food around in her hair (of what little she has). So she pretty much needs a bath every night now.
She's getting around real well now. She's a fast crawler and even stands alone for a few seconds sometimes. It's funny because she crawls on her hands and knees on the carpet but any hard surface, she transitions to her hands and feet - the bear crawl. I don't blame her though. I chased her onto the tile once and my knees hurt like crazy.
Her newest communication is shaking her head no. Boy, that's a fun one, let me tell you. She also says na na na. I think she is trying to say no. Great, just what I need. :-)
She's getting tired of the Baby Einstien DVD series. She loves the puppet parts but hates the landscape videos thoughout or anything real. How strange. I should probably invest in a variety of DVD's. Any suggestions?
And...she has her first tooth!

This is a photo of Molly at 3 weeks old. She is so precious. I can't believe that she is 9 months old now. She can wave bye-bye, clap, laugh, crawl, stand on her own (for a few seconds before falling). She is becoming more independent. It makes me sad but at the same time proud. I just can't believe how fast time flies.
