Still no new photos - sorry - I've been falling behind. Molly's been having night terrors or whatever they call them. She's been waking up in hysterics at about 3 am most nights screaming very loudly. When I go in there, she's pointing to something in the room. More times than the rest have been a paper butterfly I had hung from the ceiling. I think that freaks her our the most even though when she's awake, she loves the 'furfly' (butterfly in her language). So needless to say, we took it down. She went one night without waking up. We'll see how it goes from here.
Another note, it is impossible to have Molly sleep in bed with us. Talk about kicking, rolling, flailing - it's horrible and no one gets any sleep. She likes to roll over on top of us and turn upside down and all sorts of things. Not fun at all. Although sometimes she's really sweet and kisses us a million times and says "I love you" but mostly she does it in her sleep and she's delirious. :-)
At least I think it's her molars. I hope that it's not an ear infection. She's been waking up every night at about 3 a.m. and not wanting to go back to sleep so it hasn't been fun. She's been extra cranky also. She's been shoving her whole hand in her mouth too so that's got to be a dead giveaway. Anyway, I haven't taken any pics lately so you just get a text entry this time.
We went to Dallas for Peter's 10 year reunion and were able to visit our friends, Bill and Sue Smithson. They watched Molly while Peter and attended the reunion festivities. Molly had a great time - as you can see. She was very creative with her fun! Although the bad part of the trip was her NOT sleeping both nights. What fun. We finally got her back on schedule now that we're back home.
Update on Molly's lovely skills...she can now count to 5 by herself (except she skips 4 everytime) and she can count to 10 with assistance. She can sing her alphabet (although you can't understand half of it - LMNOP seems to be one letter to her), she's officially entered her terrible twos stage and throws fits at every chance she gets - she's learned to say NO and hit, she's happy as long as she gets what she wants which is watching Dora and Blue's Clues every chance she can get, she has gone to the bathroom three times in her training toilet and more times on the floor (ahhh, the joys of potty training), she LOVES airplanes and she'll let you know about it when she sees one, she definitely knows how to point out yellow objects and say, "wellwhoa", she now gives directions of objects like, "Cup...on the table", and finally...I think she's getting her molars in because she can stick her whole hand in her mouth and drool a lot.
This picture is from the Colorado Rocky Mountain Zoo. We were in Colorado last week for vacation (well, 2 graduations and a wedding too.) Molly had a blast on vacation and I did too! It was so nice to spend all day everyday with her instead of the limited 4-5 hours at night since I work full time. Molly learned all about planes, buses and trucks. She also learned all about horsies, chickens and ducks. She's getting to be quite the talker - she's saying lots of sentences now like... "I want milk", "Mommy (or Daddy), I love you" and she still says a lot of stuff that we don't understand. She is almost differentiating between colors - like "Yellow bus" or "Red truck." We play a little game where she says (and points to), "Mommy, bus" and I say, "A bus?" and she says, "Where?" - like she is tricking me. She is so funny. She can also sing her ABC's, although she calls them her EFG's which is funny. "ABCDEFGH...LMNOP...Wee Wee Weh", etc. you get the point. It's cute - I'll have to video that. She can also count to five (with a little help.)
This stage (21 months old) has been trying on us - as far as patience. We have a hard time taking her to restaurants, she doesn't share with other kids her age, she yells "NO, NO, NO, NO" at the top of her lungs in the grocery store, she runs away from us whenever she can. She throws the biggest fits! She throws herself down on the ground and kicks her legs. She has a concept of time out but we're not sure if it's working. She's gotten a few spankings. Whew.....
